My 6-year-old figured out how to make the robot arm wave just by swapping a couple of pieces—it’s genuinely rewarding to see the gears click into place. The chequered board keeps everything stable, and each new movement feels like a little magic trick.

The chequered board makes it so easy for my kids to line up the robot pieces and see the mechanism move. We've already rebuilt it three different ways, and each time the movement surprises us.

My 5-year-old spent over an hour quietly figuring out how to line up the little robot tiles so the marble would roll right into the goal. The chequered board is a nice, sturdy surface for experimenting, and I love that there are 58 pieces for endless combinations.
