Carter ★★★★★

My toddler laughed out loud at the king's hungry tantrums, and the rhyming text makes it a joy to read aloud every single night. The story's silly cooking adventure keeps even my pickiest listener glued to the page until the very last line.

Ruby ★★★☆☆

The rhyming text is fun and bouncy, but my 4-year-old lost interest halfway through—the story feels a bit repetitive. It's cute for one read, but I wouldn't call it a favorite.
