The needle is smooth and easy for small hands to hold, and my daughter finished the owl design in one quiet afternoon. I love how the finished pieces catch the light when hung by the window.

My 7-year-old loved threading the string through the pre-punched cards to create the owl's body, and the round-tipped needle made it easy for her little hands. The three finished night scenes look lovely hanging in her room.
