Dwarf Yellow von Ostheimer Holzspielzeug

The hand-painted finish really shows when you hold it up to the light — each coat feels deliberate, not sloppy. I appreciate that it’s certified safe, so I don’t worry when my toddler grabs it during play. It’s got that solid, timeless feel you’d expect from something made by hand.

Our little one immediately noticed how smooth the wood is — no sharp edges at all. The paint has this nice matte finish that makes the dwarf look like he stepped out of a storybook.

The hand-painted finish is lovely and the wood feels solid, but my little one hasn't warmed to it as much as I hoped—it's a bit smaller in person than the photos suggested. Still, it's well-made and will probably grow on him eventually.
