Compare Jellycat Leola Bear and Moulin Roty Plume Rabbit on size, design story, and play style to pick the right soft toy for your toddler.
Quick answer
Choose the Moulin Roty Plume Rabbit if you want a larger, story-rich companion with a 44cm frame; pick the Jellycat Leola Bear if you prefer a medium bear with a whimsical artist backstory and a more compact cuddle.
Size and presence in the room
The Plume Rabbit measures 44cm, making it a noticeable presence on a bed or shelf. That size suits children who like to wrap their arms around a larger soft toy or use it as a reading buddy. The Leola Bear is described as medium, but no exact dimensions are supplied, so treat its size as a relative rather than a precise match. If exact dimensions matter for storage or travel, the rabbit’s 44cm gives you a clear number to plan around; the bear’s medium label leaves more to the imagination.
Design story and imaginative play
Both toys come with a narrative that can spark pretend play, but they lean in different directions. Plume Rabbit is part of Moulin Roty’s Apres la Pluie collection, created by Lucile Michieli, whose characters are sweet creatures sheltering in the bedroom after a forest walk. That backstory invites quiet, cozy play and bedtime routines. Leola Bear, by contrast, is a distracted artist who loses track of time and relies on her cousin Bartholomew for tea and biscuits. Her story is more about creative mess and humor, which may appeal to children who like to draw or invent characters. Neither toy includes accessories in the supplied facts, so the play value comes from the story you build together.
Care and longevity
Neither product record specifies washing instructions or materials, so check the hang tag before cleaning either one. As a general rule for plush toys, surface wash with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry fully. The larger Plume Rabbit may take longer to dry if it gets soaked, while the medium Leola Bear is easier to spot-clean and store. If your child tends to drag toys everywhere, the smaller bear may be more practical for on-the-go; the rabbit works better as a stay-at-home companion.
Trade-offs to weigh
- Size vs. portability: The Plume Rabbit’s 44cm size offers more to hug but takes up more space in a bag or crib. The Leola Bear’s medium size is easier to pack for outings, though exact dimensions are not provided. If you need a travel-friendly toy, lean toward the bear; for a bed companion, the rabbit’s size is a plus.
- Story style: Plume Rabbit’s after-the-rain forest theme encourages calm, cozy play. Leola Bear’s artist story is more playful and creative, with a focus on tea and biscuits. Match the story to your child’s personality: quiet and dreamy vs. silly and artistic.
- Cleaning and care: No care instructions are supplied for either toy. Spot-clean both, but expect the larger rabbit to take longer to dry if it gets wet. Check the tag first; if easy maintenance is a priority, the smaller bear may be simpler.
