The step-by-step process of coloring with the grease pencils and then brushing water over the lines feels magical to watch—my daughter gasped when the colors started bleeding together. It's a lovely, calm activity that teaches a real art technique.

My 7-year-old was completely focused for over an hour, carefully painting the desert scene. The brush included is surprisingly good for a kids' set, and the finished piece actually looks like real art on the wall.

The grease pencils glide on smoothly before you brush over them with water, which my kid found genuinely magical. I just wish the set included a few more colour options to fully capture the desert theme.
